  • Uhm yeah I am not your kid

    I am 31.

When I was a kid I played the Violin, Drums, sports etc. I had a lot of different activities and explored many different things to find what I would enjoy. Now as an adult I know what things bring me pleasure and which don't.

So comparing me to your kid who is now doing all of those different activities like I am lazy for not being into 20 different activities is well kind of stupid in my mind.

I get your proud of your kid. Hell talk about how my daughter doesn't do all the things your kid does fine. But comparing me to your kid like I should be more active in a wide variety of things that I already decided are lame seems like just another way your trying to say your better than me.

One might wonder, with a parent who is so quick to tout all of the activities their child pursues, if the child is having any fun with those activities or if the parent is trying to live through said child.

Andara that is kind of my thought because when I mentioned once I was excited about a new video game I got in the mail she responded with,

"My kid plays video games but he does all this other stuff too (lists other stuff)"

"That sounds cool" (in a hey that is kind of awesome tone)

      (her taking a defensive tone)

      "Hey he has fun"

Three words- Most pageant moms. I say 'most' because I'm sure not *all* of them are whackadoos who spray-tan their daughters and bleach their teeth so they'll win something shiny that the mom wishes she could've won at that age.
