You obviously missed the point. What I said was that trafficing in girls USED TO BE CALLED White slavery. Look it up.

After looking it up, I see that it was called that around the term of the century to inspire terror, sort of like the Red Scare. I don't see anything about the "PC Brigade" forcing that name to stop being used. And my point was that calling human trafficking "white slavery" is like calling the African slave trade "Kenyan slavery."

        Wasn't it the Red Menace?

No, the Red Menace was communism. The red scare was either measles or Bubonic Plague, I can't remember which.

I've got no issue with what you said Lace, I was just pointing out that slavery wasn't restricted to only Africans... so that little high horse should be gotten off by those who use it (especially if you extend the meaning a little to those who commit minor crimes, but spend the rest of their life in punishment for it... like being sent to Heaven down here ). I mean, really - isn't being sent to a penal colony and made to do forced harsh labour pretty much the same thing? (not referring to serious felonies - only minor misdemeanours, here...)
ZOE: Preacher, don't the Bible got some pretty specific things to say about killing?

SHEPHERD BOOK: Quite specific. It is, however, Somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

The Red Scare was the fear of communism after the 1917 revolt in Russia, and again after WWII in the 1950s. The phrase "red menace" was used by various Americans to describe our opponents.

Well, we used to send our criminals over to Australia... but we can't do that any more. XD Almost the same thing.

Funny - I always thought you were on the American continent....

But yes - that's what I was referring to.

Or do you mean Don Lane??

Nope, I'm English and always have been. XD I would have thought my use of the word "arse" instead of "ass" would have given you a clue.

Not trying to pwn anybody here, just chiming in, but I have to preface what I'm about to say by letting all know that I live in the 'hood', I am the lightest-skined person in my household, and I have been called a 'wigger'.

I deal with the gangsta shit every day -- thumpin' stereos all hours of day & night, seeing guys from ages 30 to about 6 saggin', teenage femmes with a baby on one arm, another in a stroller, and she's dressed like a 'hoochie mama'. The overriding attitude is 'no blood, no foul' -- in other words, unless someone gets hurt, it's not illegal, and if the person hurt isn't 'one of us', it doesn't really matter. I hear the word 'nigga' daily -- the excuse for it is that they don't say it with the 'e-r' on the end, so it's not a slur; I call BULLSHIT on that, every time I hear it.

Respect for the law is pretty much nonexistent; again, no blood, no foul, and don't -- OMG! -- call the 5-0 unless you're getting shot at, or someone will come back on you for it.

"I'm grown, I don't gotta take shit from nobody." Wish I had a dime for every time I've heard this.

Being 'black' has devolved into 'anti-white', based on rap and the resentment from the slavery stories told by their parents/family/whoever. Funny, cuz rap is dictated by record company execs (predominantly white!) who tell the artists (using that term loosely) what they will publish.

I see strong, bright, sweet folk corrupted and poisoned by this 'Soul Patrol' run amuck. **That's another facet to this -- the 'Soul Patrol'! A quiet, mafia-like movement within the black community that persecutes its own members for not being and acting 'black enough'.**

It makes me sick to see nice, fun, beautiful kids turn into predators just because their stupid parents tell them they have to be such-and-such a way because they're black.

I could go on, but I'm getting depressed thinking about it....

Our local version of Sharpton/Jackson passed away recently and the local media and (black) community hailed him as a hero. While I normally mean no disrespect to the dead, I'm glad he's not around anymore. I had to change the channel because I couldn't stand how everyone was honoring a racist biggot like him. But of course, he was black, so it's ok for him to hate white people.

Thankfully, there is another black activist that is much more mild mannered. I've never heard him play the race card. Basically all he does is act as a spokesperson between distraught families (normally family members of someone who has been murdered) and the media. He's always big on cooperating with the investigation and authorities, and people don't seem to be bothered by it. I really hope he continues to make a difference the right way.

What exactly is wrong with reclaiming a slur?

I certainly don't have any respect for the law, and given the way our prison industry and "justice" system treats AAs I don't see why any black people should either.

Maybe in your "hood," but it's incredibly insulting and racist to assume that your personal experiences with black people can be applied to an entire race.
