Just a quick rant.
My mate here needed someplace to crash after he quit his job, and is waiting for his mate to move down from Shanghai, so they can start their online sales business (dodgey story there anyway... I mean, a - what do those 3 boys know about women's clothing? and b - his mate knows how to do an exact copy of somebody's website.... no red flags there!). He is here as a favour to him - ie, no rent! (which, obviously, for a short-term stay, is not even an issue... but in the future, it would be)
But, for all of you who love living alone, you know exactly what I mean.. about that nice bit of food you were expecting to come home to eat - which is gone!
But, what is getting to me, is that I have things which I use (or have a use for), which get thrown out, or put to uses which they shouldn't be, or damaged...
And, the feeling of having to clean up after he has already cleaned up!!! You know, when they make a mess when trying to not make a mess???
And, OMG, the simple things that just don't enter into his head! When you mop the floor, how about using hot water??? And how about the floor cleaner stuff? When you finish cooking, try not to leave the sink a complete mess!
I know, part of this comes from his (relative) age... and the other because he is a boy. Now, don't attack me here, this really is a cultural thing (for both). In China, with their One-Child Policy, it means that boys are growing up as serious mummy's boys.. never having to lift a finger to do a thing! They are treated like those precious snowflakes we keep hearing about! So, at 25 years old, he's still learning to do things the way we'd expect someone else to know from more than a decade previous!
Gods, I hope his mate moves down soon, and he moves out!
(granted, his cooking is getting better! And, he does the washing regularly.... I think that makes up for being on my internet for 10 hours a day, just chatting to girls all over the world!)
