If it's allergy reaction, it's likely a pressure headache, as opposed to tension, which is usually referring to things like eye strain and the like.

The thing I do is to start with my fingers at the center of my forehead and then pull them outward to the temples. It helps to reduce the pain.

Now that I think about it, this headache is probably a combination of tension and allergies. As for the tension that massage sounds good. *goes off to sweet talk her SO into a back rub*

This usually relieves migraine pain, since it's caused by a swelling of the blood vessels. Manually restricting the vessels by applying pressure can temporarily relieve the pain.

But as you know, this is a pretty shitty solution, since it ties up your hands and prevents you from doing anything else, including sleep. But it's a good trick in a pinch. I've gotten through a few business meetings doing this.

Nope, actually, pressing against the side of my head makes it worse. With this recent non-stop headache, there are days here and there where it feels like two big walls are pushing against the sides of my head. And then some days, it's just between my eyebrows.

I bought migrane OTC meds.....they've kept the real pain from returning and the excess warmth in my head, I was feeling quite feverish the few days prior to getting the new meds.

I told myself I'd go to urgent care today if the headache wasn't gone, but the migrane pills are working and it's too late for now. The next chance I'd be able to go and not miss any work would be next Thursday, and I already have a dentist appointment and have grocery shopping to do, and more packing.
