I guess I still have time to decide.

It just kinda stung a bit that someone who is usually on my side about how much that place/people suck to work for, etc etc, would just turn around and change tune the moment I bring up the fact that it's always a possibility that I could just, ya know, one day get up and go somewhere and make something more of myself.

I don't like to sound unsympathetic towards others, but just because someone else is afraid of change or fears change, doesn't mean I do, or should feel guilted into staying here forever. If it hurts someone to imagine having to be without me around or because they are too afraid to ever live somewhere else or have a different job.....that's something they'll have to get over. There has to be some kind of underlying mental problem with a person who would actually get upset over hearing someone just shooting around ideas of leaving or doing something different.

Misery loves company, and on that note if you succeed, it will maybe make them wonder what they could have done had they tried, and for some people thinking they made a mistake and having to question their choices in life is the worst thing ever. It also brings up resentment, as in "if everyone doesn't do what I do, they think my choices are wrong and I'm stupid for making them." My former mother-in-law took it as a personal insult against her parenting when I made the decision to breastfeed(nevermind my son's allergy to anything other than my breastmilk), because her choice wasn't good enough for me, so I thought I was somehow better than her, even though she had two kids raised to adulthood.

Some people consider it an affront to make a choice that differs from theirs.

You have no idea how right you are.

That's a different topic in itself, but I have never in my life been told so many times by a person that I "don't listen", just because I don't do everything the way this person thinks I should or don't think the way they do. Although, I'm not gonna lie, I get this person nerdraging so bad, it's almost worth it to get them riled up. They wouldn't speak to me for days because instead of listening to them, and spending money I didn't really want to spend, I just sold my junk computer to a different coworker to do whatever they wanted with, versus this person who wanted me to just, I don't know, WAIT until they felt like helping me, and spend money on a new hard drive and memory. Not that it's super expensive, I just didn't feel like it when my mom gave me her old computer (withOUT Vista!!) for free.
