  • Visual Spacial Issues

This is just a complaint. It's something that bothers me... But I really can't read spreadsheets and stuff because I have visual spacial issues. I need to draw my line from one point to another. I guess this isn't a controversial or debatable thing, but it really, REALLY bugs me sometimes. I was looking over this forum just a bit ago and I could not tell which threads were in which section.

I know it's not a huge social issue, but... It bothers me.

      I use a pencil.

It's a bitch, though, I failed a class once because I filled in the wrong circles on every scantron test.

We have that issue sometimes at work, you read along the picking ticket and see a number for size a or b and get box, sometimes though the number is in the line below.
It doesn't happen alot, so it's not a medical(?) issue like yours, but I think everyone has done something to a (very) lesser extent atleast once in their life.

My worst encounters are reading and going back to the start of the line instead of the one underneath, sometimes this is just cos its a poorly formatted wall of text, others it's tired eyes.
I've sometimes had to highlight blocks of text mid paragraph just so I can see where I am meant to go next, it's worse when each line starts off with a similar set of words quite by chance.

I'm glad iTunes uses the alternating colour scheme so you can atleast see that anything on a dark blue line is one song white another.

Psychological, actually, but yeah. It happens... Less than it used to, but it still sucks, and I don't like doing it. It may end up meaning that I don't get a driver's license as well, if it's bad enough.

I'm sorry this post is so... Uh, me-oriented.

The thing is, it's... It's jsut a thingw hich really bothers me...

iTunes has another color scheme thing? That would be spiffy. I like things that are easier on the eyes. :P

I have that problem reading books. I'll go to read the next line and I'll either skip to the wrong one or reread the line I was already reading. Thank goodness for pencils!

I don't know of an alternate color scheme for iTunes, but it has an alternating one: the first line has a light blue background, the next white, the next light blue, etc., like some fanfold computer paper used to be.

(Finder windows are the same way.)

Maybe something like this could help? In theory, you should be able to slide it down as you read so you don't have to mark up your pretty pretty books. It might work for the spreadsheets as well if you have paper copies of them.

Oh I'm talking about wall o text forum posts for highlighting, never mark a book me.

As for iTunes, if it didn't seem clear I did mean one line blue one white etc, not looked into colour schemes to see if that can be changed.

*facepalm* Yeah, I didn't notice the wall o' text thing. Can we just chalk it up to me being in pain and not to being one of those people who doesn't read?

One thing that helps when it's a website is making your window narrower. Assuming the site is designed properly and therefore will adjust to your window size.
