  • I never said that

So there you are, trying to argue with someone about something, and they're like "Yeah, well this isn't your GOD GIVEN RIGHT DAMMIT!"

That was a big one back when BBS's were around. The sysop would be like "You're banned!?" "Why what did I do?" "Oh, you think you have some sort of GOD GIVEN RIGHT to be here? Fuck you that's why!"

Or like "hey, can I get some extra cheese on that."

"What do you think you are a speshul snowflake? Jesus the sense of entitlement with you people!"

    People suck all around.

Oh I hate that. I hate having words put in my mouth or having people overexaggerate what I say.

Thinking a rule is stupid = thinking I'm special and above the rules.

Being against unregulated capitalism = socialist commie.

This can (and has) been taken so far that merely defending your rights can be interprated as oppressing others. (religious right and their treatment of homosexuals). It's a ridiculous appeal to emotion.

Would I be correct in guessing, DrFaroohk, that you're bringing this up because of a specific incident, perhaps less clear-cut than the cheese example?
"My in-laws are country people and at night you can hear their distinctive howl."

The most recent "words in my mouth" experience I have was the time that I supposedly called my boyfriend "fat". He was stereotyping men that go to the gym as "muscle bound assholes" (because, apparently to him, only doofy looking guys are good guys, right?), and I said that not everyone who likes to work out and is in good shape is an asshole.

To which, he ignored me for several days, and when I finally demanded to know what I'd said (there's more to the story than just that, this is just part of it), he said that I'd called him fat.

No, wait...there was another time that I "called him fat". That would be the time that he was whining about how he wants to buy a treadmill and that he's fat. So I asked him if he'd just buy that treadmill and work on it, then.

No, nothing specific. People just do it a lot. It annoys me.
