  • Bashing Other's for Their Love of...

Well, anything. And I don't mean playful bashing that friends do.

example (one I see all the time)-
I was just on facebook and people are bashing people for liking a certain band. Its fine and dandy. Not everyone likes every band out there (could you imagine?). Either leave it alone or the very least just say "I don't like them" and move on. Its like they are trying to convince a total stranger on a computer screen that they have horrid taste in music . There is no such thing as a horrid taste in music.

I usually just let people argue their little brains away. Its quite fun to watch somtimes. Other times I just get aggravated.

Yep, definitely. It's a waste of time and energy to wrap your identity with hating something. Put your energy into the things you like, and ignore the things you don't. I think Twilight is a horrid example of literature and film-making (for example), but I don't piss on someone else's cheerios if they happen to like it. One of our roommates actually liked Twilight. I see no reason to do anything that would amount to harming her enjoyment.

I'd disagree mildly on the "no such thing as bad taste" comment, but if someone else has bad taste, that's their business, not mine. Up until they stop outside my house blaring it loudly enough to be heard through our insulation, that is.
