I had this happen once. Hear a guy in the next stall go, "HELLO?!" *plop* Uh... h-hello? *plop, ploop* He said a few things LOUDLY with me responding (*ploop*) before he gave a response that didn't match mine and it hit me that he was on the phone. While downloading.
When I got done, he was still jabbering, despite my flush - and, as I've felt horrible after realizing the person I'm talking to on the phone is 'dropping the kids off at the pool,' after making sure we were alone in the restroom, I shouted, "He'll call you back!! He's taking a DUMP right now!!" and I left.
I feel kind of guilty, but considering how involved he was, I was pretty sure he was going to be on the phone for quite a while. I could have been worse (loud farting noises or something more juvenile) but I left it at that.
I've also had people call me while I was in a public restroom, and I hate it so much that I usually silence the ringer when I go in.

I remember going into a McDonalds loo, and this girl went into a cubicle as I was washing my hands, shut the door, then called someone while sitting on the loo and peeing. O.o I could clearly hear her telling them she was "on her way home"; so my inner child insisted that I flush the loos either side of her. They were the kind of loos you press in a button thing to flush it; well, one of the loo buttons got stuck and the toilet just would not stop flushing! I did the only thing I could do... I legged it, giggling like a madwoman, as the girl screamed, "I'm trying to make a call!"
Yes, I did tell the staff that one of the loos was stuck on flush; I didn't want someone to go up there and find a flooded out loo. O_o But I still get a chuckle thinking of how that girl got caught out."Oh wow, I can't believe how stupid I used to be and you still are."

Another good reason not to do this: when was the last time you *washed* your phone?
("On the way home" can include a restroom stop, and to me would be far more polite than announcing my more immediate activities under those circumstances.)"My in-laws are country people and at night you can hear their distinctive howl."

And what if you drop the phone? O_o I was in a phone shop getting some credit once when this guy came in and put a phone on the counter in a baggie. He said, "I dropped my phone in a pub urinal and now it doesn't work."
O_o Ew."Oh wow, I can't believe how stupid I used to be and you still are."
