  • Doesn't matter if I SHOULD take it..

when you are miserable you are miserable.

Since learning that certain medicines are bad for me due to some working on the liver, and others (Nsaids) causing bleeding issues..every time I might need to take something for pain..or a cold..or whatever..it has been a fight.

Look I get that people are looking after me. Because of the bleeding/liver issues I don't metabolize medicine like I should. I have to be a LOT more careful then the average person. The days of taking aspirin for the slightest headache, or such..is over. It's not like I actually took much medicine to begin with anyhow. Still, when my sinuses are threatening to explode, and I am sitting here trying to cough up my lung..and feeling miserable...it is time to take SOMETHING. Don't need a couple hour lecture about the fact that I shouldn't be taking anything, because it might hurt me..I know this. Just need relief from the symptoms. I've tried the ginger and honey..I've tried the vapor stuff, whatever I have is laughing at it..so time to move to something more serious.

Sometimes, you do what you have to do.

I'm sorry you're miserable. As long as you are careful you do what you need to.

Ugh I HATE that, it's patronizing and it's bullshit. When I was pregnant I didn't want to take anything in case it would hurt the baby. I got a badly infected tooth, doctor prescribed codeine(5mg) because tylenol wasn't working. In his words "the risk to the baby from the codeine is far lower than the actual damage being done by the stress on my body from lack of eating and sleep. I still got "what about the baby?" all the damn time, as if I hadn't even thought about it.

I just really want to smack people like that, instead they usually get the "you don't say" and a side eye.
