Yes. You read THAT right!
You might know I'm currently between jobs due to some Morons in Management but that's not what I'm raging about here. Around in the Boston area, craigslist is an amazing source for job ads as long as you pay attention to the things that are being said. Also not a lot of companies post in the paper anymore since craigslist is way cheaper and reaches far more people who are actually looking for jobs.
I've noticed in the immediate Boston area, this one three letter company (let's just call it OAF) has a ton of ads. That's not bad really, maybe they have a lot of openings. Then I noticed "All of the OAF ads are open positions or positions that we usually fill..."
WHOA. Yup folks, they put up job ads based on what they've filled before - or claimed to - even if they don't have any companies looking for those positions right now. Yes, OAF is a staffing company. I went and looked into their reviews and received a ton of negative commentary about how they don't care about what you are looking for and just try to force you to take the first job that comes along, even if you feel unqualified or uncomfortable doing it. Or, a lot of people were just straight up ignored, even after trying to contact their "OAF Rep" through multiple means.
So they throw up (I counted) roughly ten or so fake ads every day, trying to trick people into sending them their resume and then they call and harass them about coming in for an interview so that they can find their perfect job! They don't mention the job you actually applied for (probably because it doesn't exist and they know it) and keep bothering you to come in and take a test, etc.
Yeah, I'm very bothered by this. Maybe I shouldn't be, but I am. It makes me angry.
