I used to get these in Instant Messages through AIM. You'd get a random IM saying something like, "Hi, how're you??" When you sent a reply, it would instantly auto-reply with a porn site link.
There were also some that employed chatbots, which were programmed to gently lead the conversation up to providing a link to a webcam, and were intended to give the reader the impression that it was a real person giving you a personal invite. They had certain trigger words that would bring up pre-set bits of conversation, and I got hundreds of these, all using the same bot. I once asked, "Are you a bot?" and it said, "Not hardly, babe! Are you?" I soon figured out that I could put 'bot' in anything.
"You're sexy and I'd like to bot you"
"Not hardly, babe! Are you?"
"I like to bot and roll all night!"
"Not hardly, babe! Are you?"
"Bot, bot, bot"
"Not hardly, babe! Are you?"
If one was bored, they could be dragged out for a while and would sometimes eventually shut off.
(The reason these were necessary was that AIM had a provision that'd cancel any first IM that contained a link, so they had to get the user to reply first and THEN they could auto-send the link!)
The ones on AIM all used screen names with "Megan" in them. HotMegan, CamMegan, SexFiendMegan, ADoseOfMegan, NewBoobsMegan, MegansFine, MegansHome, Love4Megan, MeganHCaplin, MeganBrooks, etc. (I f=got so many that I made a list with each new one - ended up with over 40 of 'em) Is Megan somehow a very porny sounding name? I didn't get it.
