Ikea. I think they're known as the Kokkblokker sheets.

    I disagree....

XX chromosomes make a female, so men will want to watch X, and since it takes a Y Chromosome to make a male, hetero women would watch Y....

But I totally agree with Blas in the OP.

You guys cracked me up. My co-worker thinks I'm insane, now.

Nudity doesn't bother me, but double standards sure do. (and I tend to vote by not watching 99.9% of all recent movies)

Flaccid male genitalia isn't attractive. Frankly, it's silly looking, flopping around like that.
Or as Robin Williams put it, "It's a ridiculous lump of flesh!"

Penises in general aren't a big deal, but I will grant that there's the occasional one that looks pretty goofy. But, one could say the same thing for some women's blown out crotches too.

Looking at the OP, I totally see the point being made. It's not so much about one part being less attractive to look at than the other, but the attitude behind some viewers. We'll use my 16 year old nephew as an example. A while back, we were all watching Shine. There is a scene where Geoffrey Rush's character is outside, jumping on a trampoline, wearing nothing but a trench coat, and the scene is being shot from behind. All of a sudden, lo and behold, we get a quick glimpse of Geoff's beautiful Australian butt in all it's glory. Nephew freaked about how 'wrong' it was and how he was scarred for life, blah blah blah. He still brings it up to this day.

However, in Elizabeth: The Golden Age, we see Cate Blanchett disrobing from behind and he didn't say a peep. And of course Mystique walks around pretty much buck naked in all three X-Men films. And I'm just talking about butts. While I don't think it's overly disgusting or anything to see a person naked, regardless of sex, I also see the double standard in the fact that men want to see lots of boobies and crotches of females in movies, but we hardly ever see naked male characters. So why is it ok to show boobies and not penises? That is, if one is watching for the enjoyment of said nudity. There are also plenty of non-sexualized scenes where nudity is utilized, often to show the vulnerability or innocence of a character.

And on the subject of flaccidity, yeah, it's probably not the nicest thing to look at, but then again, I don't think jiggling breasts are all that big of a deal, either and probably wouldn't go out of my way to look at them if I had the choice. However, it's different for each person. I know someone who had her entire week made a lot brighter because she found a naked picture of her favorite actor

I highly disagree. Maybe I'm just odd... but I think that the penis is a lovely thing.

I think you've explained things quite nicely in just one sentence.

Flaccid male genitalia isn't attractive. Frankly, it's silly looking, flopping around like that. As a heterosexual woman, I only find male genitalia attractive when it finds me attractive, if you get the drift.

I don't see Hollywood overlooking the cash that could be made from demand to see men's flaccid members. I think they'd cater to it. I just don't think there's as much demand for it. And it would be entirely inappropriate for most mainstream movies to feature erect penises. So they just aren't featured at all.

That's been my theory for some time, at any rate.

Simply put, because our society is still very sexist and Hollywood is still overwhelmingly run by men (or alternatively, women who have been brought up believing in all the crap that "men won't watch X and women won't watch Y" that the patriarchal system has taught).

Best way to vote? With your wallet. Don't buy, rent or go out to see movies that subscribe to outdated notions of 'morality' or whatnot. Most of the stuff that's coming out nowadays just plain sucks anyway - I haven't seen a movie in a theater in years (not counting the time last year when I watched Aqua Teen Hunger Force) and I haven't rented anything in months because nobody's making stuff *I* want to see. It's all the same old boring crap that insults women and glorifies the wrong kind of men.

I just think it's BS that it's so taboo and such a "no no" to see a man's yoohoo, but in recent years, so many movies have girls' breasts in them. Sure, the chest and pubic areas are two different areas, but nudity is nudity. And it seems like a really sexist thing to do. Give the men what they want, large breasted women galore in most R rated movies, but don't show anything more than a man's naked butt. What does a red blooded girl have to do to see a weiner?!
