I much prefer wearing contacts to wearing glasses. It has nothing to do with looks, contacts are just more comfortable (after the first few minutes I don't even notice them, glasses I can always feel), they correct my vision better, and they have actually helped slow the deteriation of my eye sight (I have a progressive astigmatism, and having the lense on my eye has helped it hold its shape). The only problem is that with my current job, I can't wear them at work. If I am having allergy problems, I can't have them in, and working in a casino, being surrounded by clouds of smoke is all too common and I'd simply die having allergies made worse by having contacts in. That is a huge part of my attempts to get a better job, other than I can't afford working in this position (literally, I can't afford it, if you include long term depreciation on my car, I'm barely breaking even with my commute, when I say it pays my rent, I mean only because hopefully in the future I'll have made it up by the time the car needs to be replaced, which hopefully will be many many many years yet), I want to be able to wear contacts again.

Look, this is simply a case of midwesterners who simply cannot mind their own beeswax. They just have to impose their opinions on everyone else. Conform, conform, conform. I know; blas and I are in the same state. I sometimes really hate living here. Blas, you can tell your controlling, nosy co-irkers that I've been wearing contacts for 22 years and my eyeballs are still alive.

A friend of mine had a picture of this t-shirt on Facebook (I'm too lazy to find the pic), but basically the shirt says:
"Yes, I'm pregnant.
I'm due in August.
Yes it's my first
No we aren't finding out the gender
I feel fine
Please don't touch me."
If I ever fall pregnant, I am getting that shirt.

I haven't lived anywhere else to confirm that, but yes, people from around here are just plain nosy and have to put their two cents into everything.
And a lot of them are dead wrong, yet they'll argue with you until the cows come in.
My stupid ex bf believed that half siblings don't count as aunts and uncles to your children.

Another one that people around here are good for: pointing out obvious things. Like, they are stupid enough to think you don't know what you're wearing or that you never look in a mirror.
"Your pants are trailing on the floor!"
"There's black streaks in your hair!"
NO. SHIT.
Really? I never knew.
