Loved the Monte Cristo story! Great dog!

Sexism...yes, I've been treated like a stupid decoration more than a few times, simply because I lack a Y-chromosome.

I've seen it at my current job at the fabric store. Not towards me, towards my male coworkers. One of them has been at the store longer than I have, is an assistant manager, and is very knowledgeable about fabric. Yet I have seen female customers talk down to him, saying, "what do you know, you're a man!"

One time I saw him offer to help a female customer, only to have the customer snub him and turn and ask me, all nice as pie, for assistance. I then feigned ignorance about her project and redirected her back to him for his help.

Yeah, sexism bothers me, whomever it's directed towards.

If you're gonna be one of the people who say it's time to make America great again, stop being one of the reasons America isn't great right now. --Jester

Honestly, I don't really care why he was being polite to me. All I care about is that he's being polite to me.

People can be as sexist/ignorant/racist as they want as long as they keep it in their own head and it stays there.

Hey if you think the name is stupid to begin with, just don't name your pet (or child) something stupid.
Sorry, I just found it bizarre given that Monte Cristo/Carlos are a form of biscuit down here. (and not the ones I eat either..)

As for bizarre pet names, our two are fairly normal: Mitchell and Oscar (cats). Although a friend of mine's grandparent had a cat named Cooking Fat.
