  • hey there cop - please stay on YOUR side of the double-lines thanks!

It's a good thing I hadn't started pulling to the left yet to get into the left-turn lane.

otherwise i'd have been uncomfortably close to the nose & bumper of the oncoming cop car.

and i really don't want a head on (or side on) collision with a cop. chances are it wouldn't have gone in my favor - even if the cop was the one with one tire over the double lines.

Well, it depends. Some people are decent and honest enough to admit they were in the wrong even when their position means they don't have to.

Best not to take unnecessary chances, though.

Had a cop run a stop sign right as I was about to turn into my work (I had the right of way). Took quite a bit of self control not to flip the fucker off. Was talking to some coworkers and evidently, that isn't unusual for the cop that patrols the area. :/

My first apartment was on a one-way street. One day, not even a minute after I had parked my car and started walking towards my apartment, I saw a cop speeding the wrong way up my street. No lights or sirens, just came out of nowhere. If I had arrived just a few seconds later, I could have gotten hit head-on by that idiot.

Cop Cruiser slammed into me when I was a young and new driver. No lights, no sirens, coming around a blind turn.

Ruined my car and a brand new cruiser.

I got a citation for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and failure to take caution when turning.

          Yup. That happened.

My mother got run into by a drunk judge on the wrong side of the street who then crashed into a house.

When she went to court over it, he was the one sitting on the bench.

She got someone else assigned, but they still found her guilty of being in his way while he was driving on the wrong side of the road, drunk as a skunk.

It's assholes like this that make the majority think that our justice system sucks, because of the people in it.
