I met my girlfriend on line and she's whole continents away (until October! **happy dance**)
So our 'dates' tend to be a bit odd and varied. Most of the time it's just us chatting on Skype. Sometimes, we'll sync Netflix and watch a movie together. Sometimes we'll game together on XBox.
Recently, we discovered that a private online session of GTA V was perfect date material. We could chat via our headsets as our avatars did everything from walking on the beach, taking pictures, getting matching tattoos, getting drunk, watching a movie, stealing cars, joyriding, and just hanging out in my virtual apartment.
When she gets here in Octobor, our first official 'in person' date will probably be walking on a beach, followed by extensive planned activities at Disneyland, Universal, the Zoo, Alcatraz, etc. etc.
I've never been real big on the 'dressing up and going out' dating scene. I'd rather someone talk to me and connect on a personal level, doing what we both enjoy doing, than feeling as if one or the other must spend money in order to impress the other. I understand not everyone's idea of dating is the same as mine, and that's fine-whatever is right for a couple is what is right for that couple, even if it isn't what is right for the next.
My dream in person date would be pizza followed by a Halo or Left 4 Dead marathon, or maybe burning through episodes of The Big Bang Theory or Fringe on Netflix. Or, perhaps, if the weather is nice, going out and taking photos or maybe hitting a restaurant or a movie. Fortunately, I am with someone who feels much the same
