I'm so sick of hearing this shit!!
Sure it sounds nice on the surface and might help some realize their potential. BUT there's the implication that those who struggle are to blame for their own problems. That not only fails to take into account obvious external factors that can affect an individual, but internal ones as well (things like mental health). Something that can be easy for one person can be a grueling challenge for someone else. To say that person is to blame for their struggles is just being a dick.
That's not to say there's no hope for those people. I just don't think the hope comes from that kind of Rhetoric (quite the opposite imo).
