Just had to submit an issue to Facebook. Not that I expect them to do a damn thing about it since this is a common question in their help section and they can't seem to be arsed to address it.
Seriously, there are people who have been asking about this since 2013
This is what I sent...
<snip>
Ok, I logged out of Facebook to allow my wife to log on and check her page.
IT WILL NOT LET HER LOG IN!
The problem seems to be the fact that we have similar login addresses. Mine is [email@gmail.com], hers is [email that differs by only two letters@gmail.com].
It keeps saying that "It looks like you entered a slight mispelling of your email or username. We've corrected it for you, but ask that you re-enter your password for added security"
Congratulations! You have managed to fix it so spouses can no longer share a computer or tablet device if they have the same email provider and use the more professional form of addressing using initials and last name.
I know that most of your users use very creative and unique email addresses like "He_Who_PWNs_Noobs@nerd.com" and "can_and_will_suck_a_bowling_ball_through_a_garden _hose@drunkslutswithnomorals.net", but there are some of us out there who have this thing called dignity and restraint.
Fix this. I never asked nor would I ever want a login page to assume that it knows more than I do and would incorrectly assume that I'm a @#$%ing moron who can't type in my own email address when my wife is the one trying to log in to water her @#$%ing vegetables in Farmville.
