you'd be surprised. Earlier this year, I remember a rumor going around- I think to the point it made the papers- saying the Queen was either dead or dying. Nope, she was fine. (which is particularly stupid, since I can guarantee you that when the King/Queen dies, it is more-or-less immediate news.

exactly- which is why I realized in about two seconds that it was a hoax. ( to give the some credit, the rumour apparently originated in the Palace, so it was reasonable to assume it was someone who would know. Still, do they really think the queen's death would be kept quiet?)
