Brain hurts

I've spent the last couple hours trying to guide a friend of mine through how to do selections in photoshop, and how to make masks from those selections. What I thought would be a fairly straighforward explanation has turned into two hours of her not understanding a word I'm saying, nor understanding the tutorials I've sent her, two of which are VIDEO tutorials.

I feel like my brain is going to explode...If I had the software to enable me to control her computer it would be great. Trying to teach someone while not actually being able to see what they are doing is painful. I did manage to show her how to use the curves adjustment tool, so yay me.

Why is it that I feel like I have so much work to do yet I'm unemployed? At least one of my projects is a paying one, even if I am doing it as a favour to a friend.

If it's Windows XP or higher, that software comes with the OS. -.- I use it to fix my mom's computer over the phone whenever she has trouble.

Oh she's using a mac. I think she's figured it out now anyway.

I have to admit I'm stupid when it comes to the finer points of photoshop...I can do the basic cropping/brightness/contrast editing but after that I don't get it. I could use a video tutorial
