Yeah I thought it smelled a little off, there is no way whatsoever that the DM would tell him this, also the manager would either do all or nothing not 50% and on top of that the person at the store would be rather unlikely to go against her boss like that.

Ah, I've dealt with those before... enough times that I refuse to talk to managers when there is a problem, I just let capitalism do its job... I go somewhere else and let them scratch their heads as they try to figure out why their bottom line is failing.

Why would a District Manager give a random customer that much of his company's financial information?

Either the customer has met the World's Least Professional DM, or he's lying about that part of the story.

It makes everything else in the story harder to believe, even if it is in part truthful.
Embelished maybe, but I have met many managers who will give a general indication of how a location is doing. Do I think the guy went into exact numbers, probably not, but I wouldn't put it beyond a lot of managers to say "It costs a lot of money to open a location and we were wondering why this location wasn't performing as well as others"... I would see that as a perfectly acceptable way of acknowledging that they are aware that there could have been problems and thank you for bringing specifics to their attention. The line I've heard the hotel manager use with complaints about dirty rooms has been "We have a new housekeeper who is still learning. Thank you for bringing this to our attention so we know what areas we have to work on improving, I promise that you won't have the same problem tomorrow"
Surely you aren't suggesting that no one exaggerates without outright lying?

hate to break it to you, but it was wrong... he asked for no mayo and got mayo. He does not say why he asked for it without mayo, but if it was something like a food allergy, that could be a major mistake. Hell, even forgetting food allergies, there is some truth to be said about, he is paying for the sandwhich, as long as it's a reasonable request then just fucking do it. It takes no additional effort to make a sandwhich without mayo than to make it with. As customer service employees it isn't our job to judge why a customer wants something, just to (within reason) provide them with what they want.

My guess is that there is a kernel of truth in there somewhere, and the rest is pure embellishment for the sake of the story.

sadly, after over a year of my job being to interpret for those placing calls into customer service (among other things, but I've gotten a lot of insight into customer service being on the other side of the phone so much) and aside from the DM being more willing to disclose company info than is realistic, his story rings all to true.

Of course not. Although depending on the level of embellishment, an argument could be made...

At any rate, in this case, I was entirely right to call the author a liar:

The entire OP turned out to be complete fiction that was created by a banned poster in an attempt to incite or be funny or...who know- just to troll. So the thread has been deleted.
