  • 6 Year old poops on themselves

    during a "test" test.

    Linky here

During a "simulated" state mandated test, child has to go really REALLY bad. the Teacher, who wanted to "follow the testing guidelines to the letter" lets the child fowl themselves and thens give them a large trasbag to cover up with.

Not letting the child go is bad.

But them forcing her to sit on it is abusive.

    I would be extremely angry

      That's disgusting!

If they don't even sit the test until 3rd grade, why don't they start preparing them with simulated tests in 2nd grade? Kindergarten is way too young for that! At least too young to expect them to understand and prepare for it as well as a 3rd grader..

      Just disgusting!

My mom always told me that if I really have to go and the teacher says no, just get up and go anyway. Only had to do it once and when the teacher realized I planned on taking it above her level, she backed down pretty fast.

Problem is, you can't do this with a six year old. It's not that simple. There's just no reason for being so strict on kids so young.

I read about this last night and couldn't believe it. In high school and college, they don't let you get up in the middle of these tests to prevent cheating. How many 5 and 6 year olds have the sense to look up the answers to a test question?

Secondly... not everyone at that girl's age is completely potty trained. Some still have trouble maintaining control, regardless of whether or not they've got diarrhea. If a little kid says "I've got to go to the bathroom," you let them go.

I've never understood why some teachers are the way they are about letting kids go to the restroom. If you have one who's asking to leave all the time, that's different...

Normally, I didn't go at school at all unless I was there longer than the standard school day for some reason. I went through entire grades without doing it. And I believe I only had to leave a class to go twice after elementary school. In 6th grade, the teacher wouldn't let me leave. Said I should have gone between classes and I could just hold it. Well... I couldn't. If I could, I of course would never have asked to leave in the first place. Wetting your pants in middle school isn't the worst thing that can happen, but it's bad enough. Next time was in 8th grade (and a whole other school system)... and the teacher not only immediately let me go, but seemed a bit surprised I'd asked first.

Yeah, when I had to go I wouldnt ask. I would inform the teacher that I was going. (middleschool-highschool).

Didnt have any real issues in elementary as they had several planned breaks so it wasnt an issue.

I agree that forcing them to sit in his own crap though is abusive and that teacher may need a good firing unless this was forced on her by the higher ups.

                *facepalm*

Another case of by the letter teachers valuing their stupid rulebook over the well being of the students. Shit happens (pun intended), and you can't always prepare for it, especially when you're 6 fucking years old.

What's worse is that she probably thought she was teaching the girl a valuable lesson about planning or some bullshit.

The thing is that these tests do allow for incidents to happen which disrupt the test. If a child has to leave the room due to an emergency, the teacher can invalidate their test and write an incident report. Yeah, the kid would have to re-take the test, but the emergency would be taken care of.

I'm glad they didn't make me do tests in that grade. I didn't learn how to read till the 1st grade, sadly.

I had teachers up into high school that would only allow ONE bathroom pass per semester for students. Even with female teachers, it was astounding that these dribbling chest pounders didn't realize or care that even in high school, girls can have very unpredictable periods/spotting, a lot of kids can get the shits from nasty cafeteria food, and when you go to a school with only 3 minutes between classes, you have to decide between being late to class, or having to hold it for the next break between classes.

And then you get into the "real world" and work at a "real" full time job, and work for freaking Hitler who frowns upon employees using the bathroom when it's not break time. Because everyone can program their bladder to only need to be emptied every 3 to 4 hours. Because Hitler gave herself a bladder infection putting work before a few minute bathroom break, that meant everyone has to. Although, someone took her to HR years back and now she HAS to let people go to the bathroom whenever they need to, and DAMN does she hate that.

This sounds like a case of the teacher "teaching the test". in other words, she only wants to teach them what's in the test specifically, rather than teaching them anything.

But yeah, that's absolutely disgusting. Even the NAPLAN tests (state mandated tests down here for Years 3,5,7 and 9) allow for potty breaks!

That teacher needs a good firing EVEN IF this was ordered by the higher-ups. There is precedent for this (Nuremburg) where it was ruled that an underling has the DUTY to refuse immoral orders from a superior. Since this incident happened in the U.S., and the U.S. was a party to the Nuremburg prosecution, that precedent should apply here.

Reminds me of our "assistant principal" at school in New York when I was in the 6th grade. She would lock the doors on our floor and then lie to parents saying the kids can go anytime they needed to go. And this was just normal periods. I hated that bitch. I hated that school.
