      Actually, a standard insurance policy would work, oddly enough. Why? because most insurance policies already exclude subsidence, and the likely problems are close as makes very little difference to subsidence.

        But won´t the insurance contract be based on the assumption that the building respects all building laws and such?

        I am thinking that a bribed inspection would void all insurance.

          And by that point they can't find the general contractor who took the money.

          You have to remember that if such a person is issuing bribes to scam the client, they're not going to stick around to be hunted.

          (and yes, Spain has considerable issues with corruption making this not terribly difficult to pull off)

            which would be a problem for the insurance company why? they could collect premiums while not having to pay out.
