My girlfriend is Chinese. Her smile makes my heart melt, she's smarter than me, is fiercely independent and doesn't take shit from nobody, has the same interests that I do.. did I mention that she's smarter than me? I don't think ethinicty played anything into our relationship; more like, "she likes the same things I do? Lord of the Rings, too!? SCORE!!"
I read comics from Japan and Korea and watch anime, as well. Then again, I've also read and watched comics and cartoons from Britain as well (I miss Danger Mouse and Count Duckula). I have albums by Japanese bands, but I also have albums by British, French, and German bands. My artwork is definitely anime-inspired, but that's just because I feel the most comfortable drawing that way. It used to be more Marvel/DC-oriented but that was a great many years ago and I think even if I tried there'd still be a bit of Japanese influence to it.
I think I've only ever been called a weeaboo once but that was over an online game and I forgot what the context was.
