On the flip side it's annoying when people try to make you a martyr.
I don't have to travel for Thanksgiving as the family I spend it with all live in this area. Every major holiday the family I see is here. As such I tend to be one of the ones volunteering for the day after because I know there are other people that need the time to travel to wherever home is.
Then some people try to draw attention and be all, "Look he did a great thing" then get annoyed when I tell them to cut it out. Mostly cuz it makes some people feel bad.
