People not realizing that even "jokes" have consequences

Keep calm and Rape, an auto generated Keep calm and <blank> tshirt company found themselves with a few rape T's advertised on Amazon, could have been avoided if they sanitized whatever dictionary database they were working from.

That's not what I was referring to (AKA the shirt being pulled off.) People were threatening one side with rape, and the PA people did nothing to try to stop them. They pulled the "We aren't encouraging them to do this, they are doing it all on their own" card, and it wasn't until after the PA guys and their families were getting threatened did they go "Okay guys, seriously, this is going to far, time to stop."

Sorry, but you're off base on how events unfolded here.

First of all, you can't control the interwebs. Second of all, shit got real AFTER the dust settled. IE the sudden influx of harassment happened in response to PA taking the shirt down and conceding so to speak. It also went BOTH ways. One camp harrassed Courtney, as she started the crusade so to speak, the other camp harrassed PA. One side was being called a whore, threated with rape, etc, the other side was being painted as a couple of woman hating super rapists and having their families threatened.

Like I said, this wasn't a clear black and white situation. It was much more complicated. There was only a 4 day turn around from the moment PA took everything down ( and Courtney thanked them for it ) and when the death threats against their family rolled in. The serious threats, towards both sides, occurred within that 4 day window and most publically on Twitter. As the extremist fuckwads from both camps lashed out at their respective enemy in response to the outcome. Its also worth noting that Gabe did tell some of them off on Twitter that were harrassing Courtney.

It was not okay by BOTH camps, and PA did not "give in" because of the threats, the threats were a *response* to them giving in.

If OL really hated rape jokes, how come she never called out any one else from TGWTG who made rape jokes, Diamanda Hagan has a "take a shot" meme and makes far more 'offencive' sex jokes.

And at Magfest both Obscurus Lupa and Hagan did a crossover, recently uploaded and Hagan makes a "off to rape small boys" comment about a character and no fucks were given.
